# Terminal: your personal payment page

The Terminal is a payment page that is always ready, with a fixed address: `<youraccount>.1pay.ch/en/vpos`. The customer opens it, enters the amount and pays. You do not have to create anything each time: one link works for all payments.

## When you need it

- You want a permanent «Pay here» link for your website, e-mail signature or business card.
- You receive different amounts each time (consultations, repairs, telephone orders).
- You want to send a link with the amount ready, quickly, without going into the admin area.

## Activating and opening the Terminal

1. Log in at `<youraccount>.1pay.ch/cadmin`.
2. In the left-hand menu, under **Merchant tools**, open **Terminal**.
3. Check that the **Status** is active.
4. Under **Address** is the link to your page. Open the Terminal to see it as the customer does.

## Configuring it

Each change applies only once you click **Save** at the bottom of the page.

### Form fields

Choose what details to ask for. There are 13 fields: description, organisation, first name, surname, telephone, e-mail, notes, street and no., postcode, town, country, plus acceptance of terms and privacy. Activate only what you need: for a consultation, name, e-mail and description are often enough.

### Look & Feel

Choose the profile with your logo and colours, so the customer sees at once that they are paying you.

### Payment type

- **One-off**: the normal payment, captured immediately.
- **Pre-authorisation**: the amount is blocked on the card and you capture it later. Useful for deposits and rentals.
- **Tokenisation**: the customer saves their payment method for future charges agreed with you.

### Payment service providers

With **All**, the customer sees all active methods. With **Custom** you show only those you choose.

## Links with pre-filled details

You can add parameters to the Terminal address that pre-fill the page. This way you send a ready-made link: the customer checks and pays. You will find them in the admin area under the optional parameters.

| Parameter | What it fills in |
| --- | --- |
| `amount` | Amount |
| `currency` | Currency |
| `purpose` | Description |
| `contact_forename` | First name |
| `contact_surname` | Surname |
| `contact_street` | Street and no. |
| `contact_postcode` | Postcode |
| `contact_place` | Town |
| `contact_phone` | Telephone |
| `contact_email` | E-mail |
| `contact_country` | Country |
| `contact_textbox` | Text field (notes) |

**Example.** To have Marco Rossi pay CHF 85.- for a repair:

The first parameter is added with `?`, all the others with `&`. For decimals use a point: `amount=25.50`. Spaces in text are written as `%20` (such as `purpose=Annual%20fee`).

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference from Paylink?

The Terminal is one fixed link for everyone. A [Paylink](https://www.1pay.ch/en/docs/paylink-request-payment/) is a request to a specific person, with amount, expiry date and e-mail reminder.

### Can the customer change the amount in the link?

The link fills in the fields for convenience. Before shipping goods or starting work, always check the amount actually paid under **Payments**.
