The problem
Every treasurer knows this
The cash box to count after the village fair. The member who says “I’ll send you a transfer” and then disappears for three weeks. The IBAN at the bottom of the newsletter that nobody wants to type out. The spreadsheet that never adds up at year end.
It isn’t disorganisation. You are asking people to make an effort to give you money, and every extra effort costs you payments.
With 1pay.ch anyone who wants to pay you does it from their phone in twenty seconds, with TWINT or a card. You see the payment arrive, already with the right name next to it.
How you get paid
Four ways to get paid. One account to manage.
You don’t need a separate subscription for each thing. Every feature is included in every plan, the free one too.
Donations
A donation form in five minutes, shared with a link or a QR code. Suggested or free amounts, a goal with a progress bar, one-off or recurring donations. No website needed.
Membership fees
The member pays the fee once and authorises renewal: yearly, quarterly or monthly. No reminders next year, and the member can cancel at any time.
Event payments
Fairs, tournaments, club dinners, flea markets. A QR on the till sign, a portable terminal with SIM or an Android smartphone with Tap to Pay. No more cash box to count.
Sales and merchandise
T-shirts, calendars, raffle tickets, course registrations. Open a shop without technical skills, or connect 1pay.ch to the website you already have.
Getting started
From here to getting paid: three steps
1. Sign up
E-mail, name, and your account is open. A few minutes, no credit card. Verification usually comes within one working day.
2. Set up what you need
Donation form, membership fees, event QR, shop. For verification we ask for the articles of association and the signatory's details. You can do this while verification is under way, so you start the same day.
3. Get paid and keep everything in order
Every payment arrives with name, amount and method. The money goes to your account every week, and at year end you export everything in one click.
Why 1pay.ch
Six things that work differently here
No commercial register needed
Associations open an account and take payments without being in the commercial register. The articles of association and the signatory's details are enough.
Live in one working day
Verification usually comes within one working day, often the same day. If your fair is in two weeks, you'll be ready in time.
Your accounts are ready
Every transaction has name, amount, date and method. Export to Excel, CSV or XML whenever you like, and the annual statement is generated automatically.
Features are the same in every plan
Even the free plan has everything: QR, links, invoices, shop, terminal, donations. Only the fees change between plans.
20+ methods, one contract
TWINT, PostFinance Pay, cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna and more. Customers pay the way they're used to, and you don't lose the sale.
Personal support from Ticino
We're based in Arbedo. When you call, you reach a real person who knows how things work in Switzerland.
The accounts
At year end, the accounts are already done
The problem with cash and bank transfers isn’t collecting the money. It’s working out in December who paid what, when, and why that CHF 40.- transfer has no reference.
Here every transaction carries the name, amount, date, payment method and the campaign it belongs to. Filter by status, amount or period and export to Excel, CSV or XML.
Payouts to the association’s account are weekly (CHF 0.50 per payout), and you can switch to monthly if you prefer fewer lines on your bank statement. When the auditor asks for the list, you send it in two minutes.
In practice
- Name and campaign on every payment
- Export to Excel, CSV or XML
- Automatic annual statement
Pricing
What it really costs
With the Starter plan there is no monthly fee and no activation cost: 2.9% + CHF 0.30 is deducted per payment. If you raise nothing in a month, you pay nothing.
With the Nonprofit plan, reserved for recognised non-profit organisations, you pay from CHF 9.- a month and only 1.7% + CHF 0.20, the lowest fees on our price list.
What it means in practice
On a CHF 50.- donation the association keeps CHF 48.25 with Starter and CHF 48.95 with Nonprofit. On CHF 100.- it keeps CHF 96.80 versus CHF 98.10.
The break-even point is around CHF 8’000.- raised in a year, about 13 donations of CHF 50.- a month. Below that Starter is cheaper, above it Nonprofit pays off. If you’re not sure, start with Starter: switching plans takes one click.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Associations can sign up and collect payments without being in the commercial register. During verification we ask for the articles of association and the details of the person who signs for the association.
No. The donation form, the membership page and the shop live on their own pages, with an address you share by e-mail, WhatsApp or social media, or turn into a QR code to print. If you have a website, the same tools can be embedded in your pages.
Recognised non-profit organisations: associations, foundations and not-for-profit bodies. During verification we look at the articles of association. If you're not sure your association qualifies, write to us and we'll tell you before you decide.
Yes. The member pays once and authorises renewal, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. After that renewal is automatic and the member can cancel at any time. You always see who is up to date.
Three ways: a QR code printed on the till sign, a portable POS terminal with built-in SIM (CHF 25.- a month), or Tap to Pay, which turns an Android smartphone into a contactless terminal.
Every donation is recorded with name, amount, date and payment method, and can be exported to Excel, CSV or XML. That's the data you need for annual donation receipts and for the audit.
