Tap to Pay: take payments with your Android smartphone

With Tap to Pay your smartphone becomes a terminal: the customer holds their card, phone or watch to your phone and pays. You do not have to buy or rent anything.

It works only on Android smartphones and tablets with NFC. It is not available on iPhone.

Activating it #

1. In the admin menu, open Tap to Pay.
2. Click the link to the Google Play Store and install the app on the phone you will use to take payments.
3. In the admin area, click the option to add a login and fill in the form:
   • the address of the point of sale and some information about what you sell and how much you expect to take;
   • the e-mail and password you will use to log in to the app;
   • a name for the device (such as «Stall») and the currency, CHF or EUR.
4. Accept the terms and confirm.

The new login stays under review for a short while. When the status becomes Active, log in to the app with the e-mail and password you chose and you can take payments.

Taking a payment #

1. Open the app and enter the amount.
2. The customer holds their card or phone to the back of your phone.
3. The payment is confirmed in a few seconds and you will find it under Payments as «Tap to Pay».

Good to know #

• Each login works in one currency only. If you want to take both CHF and EUR, create two logins.
• If several people take payments, create a login for each, with different names: the admin area will show who took what.
• You need an internet connection, mobile data or Wi-Fi.
• For frequent payments or if you want a printed receipt, consider a POS terminal.
